Riordan Mansion - Two Brothers Marry Two Sisters and Civilize the Wild West

Tuesday July 11, 2006
One of my favorite experiences in Flagstaff, Arizona, this past week was touring the Riordan Mansion. The docent was excellent and had a great way of telling stories as he toured us through this fascinating double house. It was amazing how much innovation and civilization these families brought to the Wild West! In order to get a sense of Flagstaff’s history and gain a respect for the men and women who braved the untamed West to seek their fortunes, a visit to Riordan Mansion is a great place to start. The mansion is one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts architecture in the West and holds many surprises for the visitor. Article and Photo Gallery
