Route 66 Museums in the Southwest - It's More About Preservation

Saturday August 19, 2006
When researching where you can go to see Route 66 memorabilia, it finally dawned on me that people don't want to put roadside attractions and historic signs in a museum. They want to restore what still exists and preserve it, right there on Route 66. I especially have enjoyed seeing the restored Route 66 neon signs, many of which were restored with grant monies. While there are a few fun museums to visit, the best things to see are the remnants of Route 66. So follow along with us and see historical Route 66 sights right along the "Mother Road" where they belong.
