March is the Month for the Sweetwater, Texas Rattlesnake Round-up!

The Rattlesnake Round-Up weekend will officially kick off on Thursday, March 6, 2008 with the Rattlesnake Review Parade through downtown Sweetwater. That evening, you can enjoy the Miss Snake Charmer Pageant held in the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.

The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. Friday March 7, 2008 for the 50th annual World's Largest Rattlesnake Round-Up with snakes being weighed in at 7:00 a.m. that morning at the Nolan County Coliseum. Catch one of the snake handling demonstrations while you are there and don't forget to try some deep-fried Western Diamondback Rattlesnake meat.
