There are new developments at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Be there for the Memorial Day weekend opening of the Sky Ride. This chairlift-style open-air ride will transport you high over Zoo exhibits.Up at Cripple Creek, take a ride on the narrow guage railroad and visit the Pikes Peak Heritage Center to learn about gold mining, geologic and human history, and view displays that showcase the unique mountain environment.
Cap your Colorado Springs vacation off with a visit to the United States Air Force Academy. With spectacular Pikes Peak in the near distance, visit the beautiful USAFA Cadet Chapel. Its an a-frame metal church with gorgeous stained glass and a magnificent pipe organ. You may be able to walk on the Terrazzo and check out the cadet dorms, with an active service member.
