Elizabeth (Liz) is a freelance writer, photographer and business woman with a passion for travel throughout the Southwestern United States. As a life-long Westerner, Arizona resident, experienced trip organizer and avid traveler, Liz knows what you will need for a visit, for a vacaton or for relocation.
Liz has been a travel writer for About.com and other print and Internet publications for over ten years. During that time, she moved to Arizona and began exploring, writing and photographing the Southwest. Liz brings a unique perspective to her writing and photography as she has training in sociology and archeology and has specialized in Hispanic cultures.
Liz has a bachelor's degree in social work from Kansas State University and a master's degree in social work from San Jose State University's bicultural/bilingual MSW program in Spanish and English. She retired from the medical social work and bioethics field after 30 years. Liz volunteers for and participates in programs such as the Adopt a Native Elder Program so that she can continue learning about and understanding Southwest native cultures.
By Elizabeth R. Rose:
My joy in exploring the treasures of the Southwestern United States is multiplied when I can share what I have experienced whether it's a great little restaurant, a bargain vacation or a colorful festival. I will provide a forum for interaction with my readers and look forward to incorporating your special "finds" in my articles and searching out personal Southwest travel experiences written by bloggers.
