What You Will See:

A total of 15 impressive installation areas will delight visitors with towers, chandeliers and spires of glass accenting the already beautiful natural landscape of the Garden.

It's bright, it's creative and it's beautiful. I encourage you to bring children to view the creative and brilliantly colored exhibition. It would be a great idea to share with your children a bit about how blown glass is done in preparation for exhibits such as Chihuly: The Nature of Glass.

About Dale Chihuly:

Dale Chihuly is a portly gentleman with an amazing vision. He sees places like the Desert Botanical Garden and can plan placement of brilliant glass sculptures that enhance, not detract from, the natural landscape. He is known for innovative glass sculputures on a grand scale with vibrant colors. He has installed such sculptures world-wide.

However, this installation is his first is a desert setting!

How Does He Do it All?:

Dale works with "Team Chihuly." He has the support of a lead installer, probably with engineering expertise, and a small team of professionals who turn his visions into reality.

Chihuly explains that he does not hand blow all the pieces of glass you will see at the Desert Botanical Garden. He takes the lead, designs the pieces, and has well-respected glass blowing establishments complete the work.
