Why You Should See the Desert Botanical Garden:

The Phoenix Desert Botancial Garden isn't a boring stuffy plant collection. It's a beautifully landscaped park with towering Sagauro cacti, bridges and displays for children. During the year, visitors will enjoy such events as music in the garden, butterfly exhibits, holiday luminarias and much more. And when you are finished enjoying your day in this special desert paradise, stop by the well-stocked gift shop for a desert souvenir.

Hours:

The Garden is open daily (except July 4, Thanksgiving Day and December 25th).
October through April: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May through September: 7 a.m to 8 p.m.

Prices:

Admission prices: $15 for adults, $13.50 for seniors, $7.50 for students (13-18 and college with ID), $5 for children 3-12. Children 2 and younger and Garden members are admitted free.

Special Events:

During the holidays enjoy Las Noches de las Luminarias. There is always a class, event or special sale going on. The Garden website has a calendar of events.

Wandering the Trails:

The Desert Botanical Garden has five thematic trails that illustrate a variety of topics. For example, the Garden's Desert Discovery Trail showcases desert plants from around the world. The Plants & People of the Sonoran Desert Trail explores how desert plants are used for nourishment and tools. And, the Harriet K. Maxwell Desert Wildflower Trail showcases desert wildflowers.

The new Agave and Yucca garden has an elevated walkway where you can look down on these beautiful plants and end your stroll in a tall yucca forest. All the areas of the Garden are fun to explore.
