About Greer, Arizona in the White Mountains:
You'll find Greer in the White Mountains along the Colorado River surrounded by Ponderosa Pines. The small resort community is dotted with cabins and log cabin resorts, old and new. With an elevation of 8700 feet, it's a cool summer getaway.
To get to Greer, follow Hwy 260 to Show Low and then turn on 373 to Greer. It's about 4 hours from Phoenix. Map
Where to Stay:
There are lodges and cabins, all with a rustic log cabin feel. One main place to stay is the Greer Lodge Resort
(unreviewed). There are quite a few cabin rental sites
on the Internet. Hidden Meadow Ranch
is an area guest ranch that has private cabins with full resort amenities.
is two miles outside of Greer. The White Mountain National Forest offers campsites.
Greer is a typical mountain resort town. You'll enjoy hikiing, bike riding, boating on local lakes, fishing and, my favorite, sitting on the deck of your cabin.
During the winter, you'll want to head for the slopes at Sunrise Park
