Staying in Austin

Whether it’s business or pleasure the Omni Downtown Hotel is the destination for the Austin visitor who wants to be at the center of the excitement. Equally impressive from the ground looking up at its 200 foot lobby atrium or from the top looking down from its 20th floor outside rooftop pool, the Omni wows its visitors.

Downtown Location

For the business visitor, its location on San Jacinto in the heart of downtown in the shadow of the State Capitol can’t be any more convenient. It is within blocks is the Austin Convention Center, Austin Visitor’s Center and short walk to the famous Congress Avenue Bridge, home of Austin’s most famous nocturnal residents: its bats. (For those not familiar with the experience, each night just before sunset tens of thousands of bats take flight from their home under the bridge creating a black swarm as the bats seek out bugs to feed on for their evening meal. Hundreds of people line the bridge and nearby river bank nightly to see the spectacle.) The walk to and from the Congress Avenue Bridge provides for ample opportunities to sample the local restaurants and nightlife.

For the non business traveler, the hotel offers a variety of special packages including a Texas History package; a relaxation package for two titled Destination Indulgence and a Golf Play and Stay package.

The 375 room, four star hotel features a complimentary full service fitness center, co-ed dry spa, and in room high speed internet access. The view of Austin from the 20th floor pool is not to be missed!

Pets and Kids

Pets up to 25 pounds are allowed with the payment of a non refundable $50 cleaning fee. As far as parking, valet ($16) and self parking ($12) are both available.

If you bring your kids along on the trip don’t forget to ask about the Omni Kids Program. The program includes the use of a rolling backpack filled with puzzles, games and books. (The backpack and its contents are used during your stay and is returned at the time of your departure.) The Omni Kids Program has other benefits, so be sure to ask.
