Guide Review - Tommy Bahama's - Scottsdale, Arizona
Tommy Bahama's was our choice for a special birthday dinner the end of September. We strolled the shops in Kierland Commons, enjoying the evening. As the time for our reservation approached, we climbed the stairs and entered the upscale tropical bar. We requested a table outside so we could watch the sun set over the urban desert and we were seated at a perfect spot. We began our dinner with appetizers and tropical drinks and savored the well-prepared entree's. He had chicken and I had coconut shrimp.
Tommy Bahama's describes their menu: Signature items include Tommys Coconut Shrimp, The Great Grouper Sandwich, Tommys Rib Rack and The WhaJamaican Pork. The Island Cowboy, a tenderloin served with a port wine demi-glaze and roasted smashed potatoes and Crab Calloway, coconut-crusted crab cakes over a sweet chili mustard sauce, are two of the most popular items on the dinner menu. Top them off with a slice of Tommys Piña Colada Cake or the Barbados Brownie -- the perfect way to satisfy a sweet tooth.
All of these are great choices but after dinner we had coffee and then skipped dessert. In a rather relaxed mood, we strolled downstairs and had fun at the Tommy Bahama Emporium, purchasing a few things for our daughter-in-law's birthday. It was an excellent way to spend a very special evening.
