Downtown Revitalization Means Living in Central PhoenixAt least 1,200 new housing units are under construction or are planned in and around the Copper Square area, part of 10,000 additional units included in a strategic vision for downtown, by 2015.
Culture, Sports and Entertainment
In addition to the above projects, Downtown Phoenix offers everything a visitor or resident would want. Captivating exhibits are provided by numerous cultural venues, including the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Art Museum and the Heard Museum. The performing arts can be experienced at the historic Orpheum Theatre, the Herberger Theater Center and the Dodge Theatre. Also, Phoenix Symphony Hall has completed an $18.5 million renovation that coincides with the Convention Center expansion project.
Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team, and US Airways Center, the 17,000-seat facility that hosts the NBAs Phoenix Suns, provide sports fans, concert-goers and special-event patrons with more than 150 annual events.

Copper Square is also home to more than 95 unique restaurants and bars, including Pizzeria Bianco, Stoudemire's Downtown, Seamus McCaffreys Irish Pub & Restaurant, Alice Cooperstown (Liz's Favorite) and Jacksons On Third, as well as numerous specialty shops.
