Address: 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise
Directions: (From W. Bell Road, take Bullard south to Paradise Lane, then make a left on Paradise to the museum, just east of the new Surprise Stadium. It’s not easy to spot. It’s just past the tennis complex.)
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, Closed Monday

Admission Fees:
$5 adults; $4 for seniors (55+); $2 for students with a valid student ID; Children under 6, Heard Museum members and American Indians receive free admission.
What You Will See:
The Heard Museum West, located close to the Surprise Stadium and recreation complex, offers a small, yet rich collection of Southwest Native American art and artifacts. Enjoy the beautiful gift shop and attend artist demonstrations.
Education:
The Heard Museum West offers "Coffee Talks," workshops, lectures and special opportunities for small school groups. Especially exciting are the artist demonstrations where you can see Indian artists demonstrate such arts as weaving and basketry.
Collection:
There is a permanent collection showcasing local tribal artifacts and art. Rotating exhibits bring tastes of other eras and arts to the museum. The gallery is small yet full of fascinating pieces, all beautifully arranged and displayed. Allow at least an hour to enjoy the displays.
Gift Shop:
The Heard Museum West gift shop is an ideal place to purchase souvenirs of your trip to the Southwest. You can find high quality pieces of Indian jewelry and art, books and small items such as fridge magnets and note cards. If you are just a "looker," you will enhance your appreciation of Indian art and artisans. Purchases are tax free and members receive 10% off.
Future Plans:
As Surprise and the West Valley grows, so will Heard West. Plans for the future include additional gallery space, a cafe, and a small amphitheater.
Summer Hours:
Beginning May 1, 2008 Heard West is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only during the summer. The summer schedule will run until September 30, 2008, when the normal six-day schedule resumes. The museum’s summer hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
