The many separate shows making up the January and February Tucson Gem and Mineral Show can be confusing to the newcomer. These are shows that would be of special interest to families with children. Keep in mind that the shows can be crowded. School-age children would benefit most from the experience. Small children would need to be kept close to parents.

Annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show

The 55th annual Tucson Gem and Mineral Show will be held February 12-15, 2009. The theme will be "Mineral Oddities."
Tucson Convention Center
Downtown Tucson
Admission $9, Children 14 and under free with paid adult.

This is a fantastic show for rock hounds and families alike. Last year's show featured displays of beautiful minerals, all labeled so you could learn their names, special viewing of glow in the dark minerals, jewelry sales, mineral specimen sales and the opportunity to talk with vendors from all over the world. Children really enjoyed the show, collectors enjoyed the show, and shoppers for "bling" enjoyed the show.
