Guide Review - Pita Pit Restaurant

We had just finished a 6 mile walk through Flagstaff and the campus of Northern Arizona University. We knew that in the center of town, near Heritage Square, we could find a place for lunch. My friend spied the Pita Pit and said that she had a good experience with them in Pullman, Washington. So we headed in.

The place was bustling. All the colorful tables were filled. They guided us through the process and showed us the gigantic wallboard. I quickly chose the grilled chicken breast for my main ingredient and was directed toward two other staffmembers who helped me select from a very large array of ingredients to put in my pita. Everything I chose was put inside the pita. At the end the chicken, hot off the grill was added, the pita, a sauce was put on the top, the pita rolled and it ready to eat.

My first reaction was that the sandwhich was really large! Since the corner restaurant was full and all the tables were taken, we headed over to Heritage Square to sit on a bench and eat our pitas. It was a nippy fall day but the sun came out and warmed us. Across the square a young woman ate her lunch and read a book and a couple of young men played hackey sack.

The pita was delicious. It was like eating a wrapped salad. We noticed that, had we still been hungry, there was a Coldstone Creamery right behind us!
