Brix, has as a goal, supporting local farmers and ranchers from the northern Arizona and Four Corners area. The food at Brix is contemporary american cuisine with an emphasis on mediterranean flavors. The menu is seasonal. That way, whatever is fresh and available at that time of the year will be served.Recommendations:
The specialties of the day are never a disappointment. The day we were there, the seasonal soup, a creamy pepper soup, was excellent. The fresh greens used in the salad were supported, rather than overpowered, by an excellent house dressing. One of our dining companions raved about the fresh seasonal fish which she usually orders. She was not disappointed.Tips:
Reservations are not a bad idea. If you need to wait for your table, go next door and peruse the antique mall. There are some treasures to be foundBrix - Fresh and Contemporary:
We walked from downtown Flagstaff just a few short blocks to Brix. It was a lovely summer afternoon and we spent some time next door in the antique mall before lunch. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a hostess and then escorted through the large open bar and dining area. It was open, light and pleasant. Lunch patrons also were sitting at the long wine bar chatting with the server. Brix also has dining al fresco on their open-air patio. We found the service to be friendly and attentive. The cuisine was definitely fresh and carefully prepared. I would recommend a dinner at Brix next time so we can sample their offerings of wine and spend a bit more time there.
