We heard that Tribe members held a private ceremony Monday to ask their ancestors for permission to use the land in this way. Alone with the wind, the eagles and the clouds, it gave them time for this important part of the process. Then they walked out on the cantilevered bridge, a day before we thronged to the VIP opening.
