1. 4th of July Celebrations - Estes Park, Colorado

Celebrating the Fourth of July in Estes Park means more than spectacular light flashes and the sound of fireworks reverberating from the peaks surrounding this mountain village, although that culmination of events here is known throughout the state as one of the best fireworks displays anywhere.

2. International Folk Art Market - Santa Fe, New Mexico

Artists from all over the world sell their art and share their cultures at this colorful event. The market is held in Milner Plaza at Museum Hill.

If you happen to be heading to Texas over Fourth of July weekend, you'll have no shortage of Independence Day activities to choose from.

4. Wildflower Festival - Crested Butte, Colorado

Visit during July in beautiful Crested Butte for a week of botanical celebration! Bring your family and together you will have an unforgettable experience. Enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes and magnificent native flora that prompted the 1989 designation by the Colorado Legislature as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado.

5. Roswell New Mexico UFO Festival

Uncover the mystery and help discover the truth at The Amazing Roswell UFO Festival and 60th Anniversary of the Roswell Incident. The City of Roswell invites UFO enthusiasts and skeptics alike to join in the celebration of one of the most debated incidents in history each July. The four-day event features guest speakers, authors, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and possibly an alien abduction.

6. Small Town 4th of July - Williams, Arizona

Celebrate America in the pines of northern Arizona. The Williams celebration will include a fabulous parade, local BBQs, ice cream social, craft sidewalk sale at the Visitor Center and family activities. Enjoy the small town mountain community during the weekend and a spectacular fireworks display. This event is a regional favorite. Williams is the home of the Grand Canyon Railway.

7. Colorado Springs Rodeo - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Funding charities that serve the military and their families, the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is an annual event to look forward to. The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, again designated this year as a tour rodeo by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), will be held at the Norris-Penrose Event Center Arena.

8. Deep Sea Round-up - Port Aransas, Texas

Head out for some deep sea fishing in Port Aransas. And, not to fear, if you don't want to fish, you can enjoy the celebrations and big fish-fry.

9. Hassayampa River Preserve - Wickenburg, Arizona

The Hassayampa River Preserve, just south of Wickenburg, Arizona is a riparian oasis in the midst of a desert. Enjoy seeing the free-flowing and clear upside down river, and walk around the spring-fed pond in the shade of palms and cottonwoods. This is a great place to bring kids. Have a picnic breakfast in the palm grove. They are open Fri, Sat and Sunday in the summer from 7am - 11am. I suggest the earlier the better!

10. 4th of July Celebrations and Fireworks in the Phoenix, AZ Area

Those community festivals are great--food, kids activities, water fun, local bands and entertainment. The goods news is that there are even more opportunities for celebrating the 4th of July in the Phoenix area. These special events make perfect family outings.

11. World's Oldest Rodeo and Frontier Days - Prescott, Arizona

Since 1888 folks have come from miles around to see what the ruckus in Prescott, Arizona was all about. Every year that ruckus gets bigger, the contestants more daring and bold. When the bulls, the horses, the clowns come to town ...well, let's just say you'll want to see what's kicking up all that dust.
