As the first stand-alone nonprofit insect zoo in the nation, The Butterfly Pavilion is a 30,000 square foot facility covering five acres Westminster, Colorado. Visitors to the facility find themselves surrounded by more than 1,200 free-flying butterflies while walking through the lush, tropical conservatory. The pavillion is open year around and offers classes and meeting facilities.
Tubing down the Salt River is an Arizona tradition. Here's the short version: You park your vehicle, take a bus to a higher elevation of the river, rent inner tubes, and float down the river. Families, adventure groups, college students--all kinds of people from all walks of life join this floating party. Depending on water flow, the availability of tubing opens in early May.
Featuring over 10,000 music students and teachers, Amarillo's Greater Southwest Music Festival includes contests for choir, jazz band, show choir, orchestra, band, solo and ensemble.
