Chimayo is a historic village in the foothills of the Sangre de Christo Mountains. Chimayo was established by the Spanish in 1610. Chimayo is known for the Chapel, the Santuario de Chimayo, known for healing powers and for the Chimayo artisans and weavers of the area. Chimayo is very picturesque.
