Children: There isn't an organized children's program but the children will love the ranch atmosphere. Children 5 and over can go on the trail rides without Mom and Dad. All ages enjoy the petting zoo, sport courts and game room.
While I was there children joined in the line dancing and just loved the the "Critter Night" with tarantulas and real live snakes on display.

Spa Services: The ranch has a lovely heated pool with a view of the mountains. Off the main pool is an indoor spa/hot tub. Spa services such as massage or manicures and pedicures are available on-site with notice in their lovely spa and exercise facility.
Getting to the Ranch: Guests can arrive via Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport or Tucson Airport. If you arrive at Sky Harbor, you can take a shuttle to a stop close to the ranch and the ranch van will collect you. If you fly into Tucson, ranch hands will meet you there. Some guests who had rented cars at the airport told me they regretted that decision as once at the ranch, they had no reason to use the car!
Meeting People at White Stallion Ranch: The Ranch has a family atmosphere and that extends to the guests. There are many organized activities but you'll find it very easy to connect with new friends from all over the world. "Oma" put a note up on the bulletin board asking if someone wanted to play tennis. She had quite a few takers.
Before dinner, guests gather in the bar for "Happy Hour" and conversation flows.

White Stallion Ranch Recommendations and Review: The White Stallion Ranch has something special that draws visitors from across the United States and Europe year after year. It may be the Western hospitality extended by the True family. It may be the excellent meals served to guests at long tables or the stunning scenery. Or it may be the well-trained and affectionate trail horses. But one thing stood out for me... it's really about people.
I arrived at the White Stallion and was personally escorted around the grounds by welcoming staff who made sure I was oriented to the facilities, the system and schedule. Before dinner, I headed for the Lodge and sank into an upholstered bench corner with a book. Within 5 minutes I was invited to join other guests, some of whom were from Germany. That type of warm family atmosphere continued throughout my stay. I was never alone. There was always someone to ride with, dine with or chat with over a jigsaw puzzle. The White Stallion Ranch is a "people place."
Here are some tips and observations that will entice you to visit this "people place."

- The ranch is not all that far from "civilization." If you forget something, there are shops about 15 minutes away. But when you look toward the mountains, the vast desert acreage ensures an unobstructed mountain view dotted with Saguaro Cacti.
- You will most likely have a horse assigned to you for your entire stay. You can ride as much as you would like, take lessons (fee), or volunteer to help groom the horses.
- Try something new. Each evening the ranch offers some sort of program. It may be star gazing, cowboy poetry or line dancing.
- Start slow. The ranch activities seem to flow in a 7 day cycle. Start with slow rides, a lesson or two and by the end of the week, you might want to sign up for an all-day ride.
- Steak Night. Wendy, one of the ranch regulars, suggested that visitors try to schedule their stay so they are there for Thursday Steak Night. Everything bar-b-qued on the massive ranch grill is tender and savory.
- Prices. The White Stallion Ranch strives to keep their prices low and guests confirmed that the American Plan rates were very competitive... enough so, that it was worth the cost of a trans-Atlantic flight to get there for a week's vacation.
