The Santa Fe Folk Art Market brings together 150 master artists from around the world, many of whom are struggling to survive in their native countries. This is shopping that makes a difference. Ninety percent of the artists sales go home with the artists, many of whom grapple daily with political, social, and environmental challenges in their home countries. Proceeds have helped to build schools, wells, and health clinics. They have brought food, clothing, and medical care to Sudanese refugee camps, AIDS support in South Africa, financial independence to Afghan women, and much, much more.
The market takes place each July. Talented artists from more than 45 countries showcase their amazing one-of-a-kind pieces from weavings and pottery to rugs, clothing, jewelry and everything in between. In addition to must-have-art, you will enjoy musical performances, artists demonstrations and tasty ethnic foods.
