Santa Fe is full of surprises. Here are some tips for visitors that the guide books may not tell you. After spending time with Santa Fe locals, we found some great travel things to do and places to go that will enhance your Santa Fe vacation.

1. Fourth Friday at the Delgado Street Galleries

Head for Delgado Street just off Canyon Road on the fourth Friday of the month for gallery openings, great appetizers and special music. It's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

2. Weekend Flea Market at Tesuque Pueblo Just North of Santa Fe

This is not your ordinary flea market! It's a flea market Santa Fe Style. With high end jewelry and art mixed in with African baskets and Mexican pottery, it's a great place to spend some time. The market is just off the highway. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

3. Visit the New Mexico Governor's Mansion

The New Mexico Governor's Mansion in north Santa Fe is open to Individuals and Families on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, Free, from 1pm to 3:30pm. Enjoy a docent led guided tour of this beautiful residence that overlooks Santa Fe. Yes, the Governor lives there!
