Dining at Camelback InnDuring the renovation (until Spring 2008) the main dining opportunity is Hoppin' Jacks, serving full breakfasts, lunches and dinners. You can choose from poolside dining and indoor dining. We recommend dining outdoors so you can enjoy the beauty of the flowers and the view of Camelback Mountain.
Food at Hoppin' Jacks is excellent. At one breakfast, I had the best French toast I have ever experienced. They have a unique recipe for "Cruchy French Toast," battered in cornflakes and toasted almonds. It's excellent. There is also a breakfast buffet where most everything is made to order in the exhibition kitchen just to the rear of the restaurant.
At lunch and dinner there is an extensive menu ranging from burgers to fantastic entree specials such as "Surf and Turf" with Mahi Mahi and Petit Filet Mignon. I enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth Salmon dinner accompanied by baked potato and broccolini. They offer great margaritas and a good selection of wines. There are always very healthy choices offered. They are clearly marked on the menus.
Often, you can enjoy live music at Hoppin' Jacks, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Sprouts at the Spa
As I mentioned, having breakfast at Sprouts was a very relaxing and healthy experience. They, too, offer indoor or patio dining. The selections are fresh and healthy and the views can't be beat. Enjoy a meal after your spa treatment. When we were there most all the customers were relaxing in their spa robes enjoying a morning cup of coffee and light breakfast. Sprouts menus.
Recommendation
Camelback Inn is a great way to spend a weekend to unwind and relax. Once you arrive, you won't want to leave. You can enjoy dining within walking distance of your room, relax with a spa treatment or take a short mountain hike. The Inn is a favorite place for families to return year after year and, with beautiful private pool suites, it would be a fun place for a honeymoon. Want to get together with your girlfriends? The resort offers special package deals for your getaway. The Camelback Inn captures the charm of the desert resort of yesteryear coupled with the vibrancy of today's upscale dining and high-tech amenities. Watch for the new restaurants and look for the lobby area in Spring 2008. It will be worth a trip to see what's new!
