Baseball fans from across the country will soon make their annual pilgrimage to Scottsdale for the 2007 season of Cactus League spring training. Each year, Scottsdale Stadium plays host to the San Francisco Giants’ spring training games throughout the month of March, during which perfect weather and an abundance of special spring training deals make it the ideal time to visit Scottsdale. The 2007 Cactus League schedule includes 14 San Francisco Giants home games at Scottsdale Stadium, including games against the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Oakland A’s and Seattle Mariners. Last year, the San Francisco Giants extended its contract with the City of Scottsdale for 20 years and will continue training in the city through 2025.

New Charro Lodge Offers Luxury Atmosphere

Die-hard baseball fans have the chance to watch the games in style inside the new Charro Lodge at Scottsdale Stadium. Located adjacent to the San Francisco Giants’ bullpen, the Lodge offers one of the best views of the baseball action as well as a relaxed, club-like atmosphere. Passes to the Charro Lodge are available for single-game groups of up to eight people or they can be purchased as individual game passes. Prices range from $75 to $100 per person per game for either option. A general admission ticket to the stadium, entry into the Charro Lodge, and a variety of complimentary food and beverages are included in the pass price.

After taking in America’s favorite pastime, Scottsdale visitors can enjoy a variety of special spring training packages including autograph signings with Giants players, hotel accommodations, rental cars and more. In addition, the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Web site offers a collection of other discounts centered on this month-long event. Some examples include the Shopping & Spring Training package at Scottsdale Fashion Square and The Borgata where baseball fans can show their out-of-state driver’s license to the concierge desk and receive a Shopping & Dining Incentives Book with more than $500 in savings. The Play Ball package at Caleo Resort & Spa offers deluxe patio accommodations, a basket full of baseball snacks, a bucket of beers, baseball schedule, and an area map for $275 per night. Baseball fans and their families can shop like the stars and walk the ultimate red carpet into Scottsdale’s finest boutiques and galleries with a Spree! The Art of Shopping customized shopping excursion. Experience customized retail tours with itineraries packed full of great shopping deals, special merchandise, and services from boutiques and shops in Scottsdale. Stores provide participants the VIP treatment with wine and cheese receptions and the special spring training offer includes complimentary champagne. Price is $495 for up to four people.
