Denver Marathon (Denver): Lace up your running shoes and take on the Denver Marathon The 22-mile course weaves runners through Denver highlighting the city's cultural diversity incorporating a mix of urban neighborhoods, shopping and restaurant districts, city parks and residential areas. The course, which is flat and with little to no elevation change, is certified by USA Track & Field as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. You can get eye-to-eye and toe-to-toe with the wallabies, which look a lot like little kangaroos. It's just like visiting the real Down Under, only it's at the only mountain zoo (elevation: 6,800 feet) in the United States.

Historic Railroad(Alamosa): Ride the historic and newly restored rails of the San Luis Express. A standard gauge three-hour ride, the rails connect passengers from Alamosa to La Veta mid-May to October. The trip offers spectacular high mountain views as you experience the excursion that opened the San Luis Valley to America. The last regular passenger train was discontinued in 1953.

Steamboat Springs Heritage Ranch Tours (Steamboat Springs): Visit the working ranches and cultural countryside of Steamboat Springs. Lead by local historians, you'll learn first hand about the rich ranching heritage of Routt County as you tour cattle, sheep, horse, bison and elk ranches throughout the area and interact with ranch residents. Tours run daily July through September.

Step Back in Time at the Hotel Colorado (Glenwood Springs): A $2 million restoration revitalized the restaurant and lobby areas of Glenwood Springs historic Hotel Colorado. Dating back to the 1890s, the restoration brings back to life an era when fine dining and socializing were the feature attraction.

Twenty Ninth Street (Boulder): Boulder welcomed Twenty Ninth Street to its mecca of shopping and restaurant destinations around town. The new addition features a retail/residential district, a 16-screen movie theater and an entertainment venue with spectacular views of the Flatirons and the foothills.

Hot Springs Lodge & Pool (Glenwood Springs): A Colorado landmark for many, and the world's largest hot springs pool, in Glenwood Springs, has provided over 50 years of therapeutic waters, mountain beauty and splashing good times. A popular resort destination, the pool is adjacent to the Hot Springs Lodge, a 107-room hotel located next to the Colorado River and surrounded by the Rocky Mountains.

Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) (Denver): Denver's Museum of Contemporary Art moved into a new home, a 25,000-square-foot building designed by Ghanaian-British architect David Adjaye. Located in the Central Platte Valley district near the historic Union Station building, MCA will continue to explore and display worldly works of art and colorful masterpieces.
