For Classic Car Buffs

Jun 12 2007
A small museum in north-central Tucson is a must-see for every American classic car buff. The main attraction is the Franklin, one of the most innovative, luxury automobiles of the classic era of the late 1920s and 1930s.

Thomas H. Hubbard of Tucson - who, until his death in 1993, was a well-known auto restorer and car history buff, and a leading authority on the Franklin automobile, started the Franklin Museum. The museum has at least 18 models on display, all original or fully restored, built between 1910 and 1934.

The museum hours are: Wed-Fri,10am-4pm and Sat and Sun by appt. They can accommodate larger groups on the weekends. The museum closes in the summer as was the case when Tom Hubbard was alive.

They are currently working on restoring his home and will eventually display Tom's vast collection of Native American Archaeological artifacts and of course, his splendid collection of Arizona paintings and furniture in the home.

No admission charge. Donations welcome. To schedule a visit, call (520) 326-8038, or e-mail FranklinMuseum@aol.com.
