Brian Head Snowmobiling - What a way to tour!

If getting a unique view of nature at speeds of up to 50 MPH sounds exhilarating, a snowmobile tour of the area around Brian Head with Thunder Mountain Motor Sports is sure to be a memorable experience.

If you don’t have snowmobile riding experience, or you feel you might not have the right equipment, it doesn’t matter, Thunder Mountain Motor Sports has got you covered. From helmets to boots to all the special equipment needed to ride a snowmobile safely and comfortably, it can all be rented on the day of your trip.

Guided Trips

Just so there is no confusion, there is no flying solo on your snowmobile. The snowmobiles go out in convoys and are led by a guide. You can either drive one on your own or have a passenger join you on your machine. (If you’ve never driven one, they are incredibly easy to drive, even easier than motorcycles.) On my trip my nine year old daughter accompanied me so it was safe for kids as well. (She had a blast and urged me to go faster and faster – which I didn’t.)

Breathtaking Views

The tour starts out for a very short period traveling over the snow covered mountain roads near the Brian Head Ski Resort and then you are off the roads and traveling through the trees of the Dixie National Forest leaving civilization behind. The tour's highlight is a spectacular view of Cedar Breaks National Monument where from an overlook you have time to stop and take a few photos and admire the incredible scenery.

When You Go

A variety of packages are available including a 1.5 hour, 3 hour and all day tour. The shortest tours run around $70 and $15 for an additional rider. The three hour tour is $129 and $15 for additional passengers.
