Goosenecks State Park is worth a visit to peer down into the canyon at the meandering San Juan River. The day I was there I saw people rafting and kayaking down the river. The beauty of the goosenecks is that the river winds back and forth for 5 miles, all within your view. Map

Entry to the park and overlook is free. There are primitive camp sites. Access to the park is available 24/7. More park information.

There are more things to see in the area. Keep driving and head toward the Mexican Hat Rock Formation, Muley Point Overlook and the Valley of the Gods.
